What We Have Done
In Alaska, we saw “at risk” kids who have personally benefited from the positive power of sports, by being depended on as members of a team, by holding their heads high after heart-breaking defeats, knowing that they did their best, and by persevering against the odds. In one short year, they went from winning one game their first season to just missing the state championships during their second year.
From Here to There to Everywhere!

As most of you know, in February of this year a core group of Project Alaska volunteers, led by Cathy Parker, united to form a new foundation called Athletes to Champions, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk youth by using athletics to provide focus and guidance in their lives. We continue to receive frequent media attention for our efforts and Cathy Parker stays busy with speaking engagements, sharing the mission of our work. Through this newsletter, Athletes To Champions wishes to share with you, our supporters, the exciting news of our most recent projects. Since our involvement with Project Alaska, we have taken on some wonderful new ventures and have plans to keep reaching out to at-risk youth. We feel so blessed to be touching so many lives through our work with the help of many generous donors choosing to invest in the lives of our youth.
What We Are Doing
Athletes to Champions is continuing to support the Barrow Alaska football program. This season the Whalers will have a new electronic scoreboard, provided with the additional assistance of Wells Fargo Bank and United Parcel Service.
We are also forming a new relationship with Power Cross in Statesville, NC. Their goal is to develop their program and facilities to enable elementary and middle school boy to become better athletes and more productive members of their communities.

Play It Forward
All participants in the programs we support are given a certificate which recognizes their efforts and reminds them that others have invested in their value as Individuals. The certificate asks them to remember the support they have received, and to "Play it Forward" as they become, future parents coaches and community leaders.
